Group Dialogue: Debriefing Beginning Meditation
Take a breath, and in silence, look at each of the participants, perhaps making eye contact, smiling, nodding, or otherwise acknowledging each participant. Do a visual check-in. Break the silence by asking, “What did you notice in that meditation?” Take a few minutes to debrief their responses.
Group Dialogue: Debriefing Home Practice
Take ten minutes to check in with participants about their experience of the last session’s home practice. The point of the debrief is to explore with participants what they noticed, regardless of whether they “achieved” their goals or not. Here are a couple of helpful questions to ask:
Before we move on, how did everyone feel after they went home last week?
Did you have any difficulty or success with implementing your movement goal?
How was it to do this practice?
What did you notice while doing it?
Did any hooks show up? If so, what did you do when you noticed a hook?
